Future Directions strongly believe that by embedding values, investing in service users and staff and finding new ways to improve positively impacts on the workplace culture.

Implementation and monitoring processes have led to increases in service user and staff satisfaction, improved working practices and raised the quality of service delivery to people who require support. Their values are available to see in all establishments on the walls, stairs, website, recruitment pack, raised at team meetings, staff survey and one page profiles. 

Timely and honest communication is seen as a must by people who use their services and the positive comments made about the staff reflect that the values are being adhered to. The strong emphasis on supporting service users to be involved in recruitment and audit processes has led to benefits for the service user as well as teams in recruiting the right people. 

The culture of improvement and team work is supported by the visibility of senior managers and willingness for supporting each other regardless of job role. Future Directions see that the values are lived as opposed to being a statement.

What the judges said...

The judges felt that Future Directions CIC demonstrated a wide range of development opportunities for staff at all levels starting with a comprehensive induction, two-way regular supervisions and plenty of opportunities for career progression. Judges also recognised that Future Directions CIC submission demonstrated their very positive workplace culture and scored them highly on this.
