Skills for Care is the employer-led workforce development body. We want to help you as a manager to develop your team into the best that it can be. Strong and well developed teams are much better at providing excellent social care services.

Our Care Certificate workbook is a free downloadable resource to support people completing the Care Certificate.

Browse and sort qualifications, then tailor them to suit the needs of your staff using the Skill Selector. Use the Endorsement Provider Directory to look for recommended learning and development providers and their courses.

The Code of Conduct sets out how your staff should behave and is for all care and healthcare staff in England. It is particularly useful for new staff to read, as it fits with the Care Certificate.

Signing up to the Social Care Commitment will help enable social care workers to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Common core principles outline the basic values and knowledge we expect care workers to have in order to work well in their roles working in dementia, mental health or end of life care.

You can also use specific common core principles to consider how to embed dignity or equality and diversity into your day-to-day work.
