The next generation of leaders

Next generation of leaders

You have a responsibility as a leader or manager to bring staff with the right core values, skills and attitudes into the sector and to nurture them within their role. In doing this you help to develop and grow the managers of the future.

We have a number of tools you can use to do this.

Our information on finding and keeping workers should be the first place you visit if you are working to recruit and keep your care staff. It contains useful information and videos about the most common issues faced by employers.

The Manager Induction Standards set out what ever new manager should know. Though not compulsory, they are a benchmark of quality for managers. The standards are free to download. Soon you will also be able to purchase our ‘Becoming a manager’ guide to help you, which will be available when the new standards launch in September.

The Leadership Qualities Framework describes the key leadership behaviours and attitudes that need to be demonstrated by social care managers at all levels. Its aim is to support the transformation of adult social care through better leadership.

Level 4 and level 5 diplomas and higher apprenticeships in social care are for those in manager or business development roles. They’ll help you with your personal and career development.
