We recognise that learning providers play a crucial part in supporting the sector to develop a highly skilled workforce and drive up the quality of care delivered.

We have developed a series of bespoke innovation seminars and consultancy designed in partnership with social care employers, to support you to meet these challenges.

They cover a range of relevant subjects including:

Skills for Care works hand in hand with England’s adult social care employers to make sure their teams have the right skills and values. A workforce which is capable, confident and skilled that can deliver high quality care.


Seminars available 

To support Learning Providers to understand the challenges and changes within the social care sector, identifying opportunities which will have a positive impact on your business. We will tailor this workshop to meet your needs including:

  • Understanding how to promote your organisation as a learning provider of choice
  • Exploring Government drivers in relation to your offer and delivery; commissioning, Care Act, Care Quality Commission, Care Certificate and integration
  • An update on changes to Apprenticeships, qualifications and standards
  • Tools and resources to support you

There will also be opportunity to develop your action plans with us.

 

To support Learning Providers to understand the changes to Apprenticeships, qualifications and training in the social care sector.

We will tailor this workshop to meet your needs including:

  • New Apprenticeship standards
  • End point assessment
  • Funding including the levy
  • Changes from Qualifications Credit Framework to Regulated Qualifications Framework

There will also be opportunity to develop your action plans with us.

 

To support Learning Providers to understand the drivers for social care employers and develop strategies to engage and negotiate with them effectively.

We will tailor this workshop to meet your needs including:

  • Understanding how to promote your organisation as a learning provider of choice
  • Exploring Government drivers in relation to your offer and delivery
  • Exploring how to use social media and networking to engage effectively
  • Tools and resources to support you

There will also be opportunity to develop your action plans with us.

 

To support delivery staff to understand the changes within the social care sector and the impact this has on their role. Includes; use of Skills for Care resources, training and facilitation techniques.

We will tailor this workshop to meet the needs of your delivery staff including:

  • Exploring Government drivers in relation to your delivery; commissioning, Care Act, CQC, Care Certificate and integration
  • An update on changes to Apprenticeships, qualifications and standards.
  • Innovative training and facilitation techniques
  • Tools and resources to support delivery

There will also be opportunity to develop action plans with us.

 

Jane Brightman

Project Manager at Skills for Care

Jane has recently joined the team at Skills for Care and has worked in the social care sector for over 20 years. Before joining the organisation Jane ran her own social care training company delivering; Apprenticeships, Diplomas up to level 5, short courses, leadership training and consultancy. For 10 years Jane developed and grew her business by creating innovative employer engagement opportunities. She also set up and runs a national Registered Managers Network.

Peter Barron

Project Manager at Skills for Care

Pete has been with Skills for Care for four years. He led the introduction of the Care Leadership and Management framework which is the single largest Higher Apprenticeship and project-managed the Adult Care Trailblazer programme with a group of employers, learning providers and awarding organisations leading to the approval of four new standards. Previously Pete managed projects and networks in organisations as varied as Sussex Lifelong Learning Network, the Centre for Information on Language Teaching, Tribal Group, the Charlemagne Group, the European Commission and the English Speaking Union.

Theresa Chilton

Project Manager at Skills for Care

Theresa has worked at Skills for Care for nine years. Positions included Locality Manager in the North West supporting employers across 10 Greater Manchester Local Authority areas, and Project Manager promoting, learning and development standards and Apprenticeships. Theresa has previously managed the care provision in a large training provider and advised and verified organisations on achieving Investors in People.

Please contact us to discuss your needs and pricing. A half day workshop costs £1,200 (exclusive of VAT) and a full day workshop costs £2,000 (exclusive of VAT). The costs are for a group session of up to 30 delegates.
