If you’ve registered for funding, you will need to join or be a member of an ASYE partnership.
Your assessment outcomes will be moderated by the partnership to ensure that they meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for Social Workers in Adult Services and the Professional Capabilities Framework.
The partnership will provide feedback on each assessment but will not overturn your decision.
The partnership moderation process helps to identify a 10% sample of average and good assessment outcomes from across the partnership.
Details of this sample will be recorded in a summary report which will be submitted to the national moderation panel.
Our guidance provides more information about partnership moderation. There is also guidance on developing a memorandum of collaboration, for the partnership.
The National moderation panel meets twice a year and has 12 members.
Their role is to:
- review the external moderation summary report for your partnership once a year
- check a random 5% sample of your ASYE assessment reports.
We will be coordinating this process on behalf of the panel and will provide you and your partnership with feedback on your assessment outcomes.
Information moderated by the panel will be used to create a national report.
Key messages from the National moderation panel
We’ve created a template to help the assessment moderator to record their feedback on your assessments.
There is also a template to help your ASYE partnership to summarise the external moderation process.
Your internal assessment process will be checked by an external moderation panel to make sure it meets the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for Social Workers in Adult Services and the Professional Capabilities Framework.
This applies to all social work employers regardless of size, sector and number of NQSWs and you will need to be a member of an ASYE partnership.
