Information Resource Toolkit
introduction
Welcome to the updated Information Resource Toolkit, designed to help social care employers and people advising them to develop skills and learning in their organisations.
Two major driving forces make this even more important for employers:
- putting people first: making care services personal to each individual and the changes this will mean for skills and the workforce in social care
- the skills pledge: the ambition expressed in the employers' Skills Pledge to improve skills levels to a minimum level 2 across the whole workforce.
The toolkit may also be a useful resource for education and training providers in schools, colleges and universities both as a way of responding to employers' needs and for professional development of teachers and trainers.
Each briefing aims to outline the key points and to suggest further sources of information. The toolkit builds on work carried out by Skills for Care, the Social Care Institute for Excellence, the General Social Care Council and many others. There are many sources, most of them free, to help employers understand the changing and often confusing picture in social care.
The Information Resource Toolkit brings together many resources to help employers find relevant ideas and further information quickly.
