March 2011: orders can now be placed for Skills for Care's Learning through Work series. The series contain 7 bitesize Learners' guides along with a Manager's pack to help workers in various situations in care settings.
The booklets include Reporting, Writing skills, Bodily functions, Physical Health, Using numbers, Number skills and How much, how often. Each booklet is divided into bite-size segments. Each segment can be read in less than three minutes and includes learning questions and quizzes to promote discussion. The learner's guides can also be bought as separate sets.
Managers pack (full series in presentation box)
The Manager's pack contains a promotional poster, 'How to use' sheets for each booklet, a contents guide and a Managers guide.

Individual learner guides
The Learning Through Work pack includes one copy of each of the seven short guides written for workers. But to help you make practical use of Learning Through Work in your workplace, you can also buy additional copies of the workers’ guides to give out. These are conveniently pocket-sized (a quarter of A4), giving clear information and workplace-relevant examples in an easily understood style.
The minimum order for these is six, and you can make up your own selection of which titles you need from the list below—we also recommend that you look at the sample copies of each guide in your Learning Through Work pack before ordering.
Pricing: the minimum order of six booklets is £15 (i.e. £2.50 per booklet). Additional booklets over the initial six are also £2.50 each (all prices incl P&P).
