  • Transferable skills
Currently there is a choice of offering either Key Skills or Functional Skills within an Apprenticeship. This will end 30 September 2012. The list of all applicable Transferable Skills can be found in the Apprenticeship framework in front of every pathway. The current framework document can be found here
    Transferable skills FAQs

Key Skills Information (Exemptions and proxies for key skills only): Key Skills Policy & Practice - Your Questions Answered (See section 2.3). This information is only valid until September 2012 when Key Skills registration will cease.
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PTLS)
These are identified as essential to successful life learning and work that will provide apprentices with a solid foundation and the ability to transfer skills to other areas.
We have mapped these against our knowledge and competence qualifications and they are fully embedded within these qualifications. For the purposes of the framework, providers are asked to download the mapping matrix from: - PLTS mapping matrices.
The Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Map (PLTS) will be used to evidence achievement for those apprentices undertaking the SASE-compliant framework.
