Feedback on Draft Units for Qualification Credit Framework (QCF)
As part of the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) development process, Skills for Care would like feedback on a sample of draft units being developed across different qualifications. This will build on the consultation already undertaken through our Sector Skills Agreement and Sector Qualification Strategy work, the development of National Occupational Standards (NOS), Knowledge Sets and other appropriate standards.
The new QCF qualifications must be of high standards, reflect current best practice and meet sector need and requirements for registration and regulation. Each qualification (or group of qualifications) has its own deadlines, leading to all qualifications being developed by March 2010.
As part of this quality assurance process, Skills for Care is seeking feedback from employers, training providers, learners and people who use services and carers on the draft units at a very early stage. Participants are asked to review draft materials against tight criteria and within a short timescale in order to meet deadlines of 2010.
Units are being developed at different levels, learners can undertake units to reflect their role, certain aspects of which may be diverse through rules of combination. To access the FAQ on Rules of Combination in the QCF section, please click here.
