Centre for Workforce Intelligence (CfWI)
CfWI produces quality intelligence to inform better workforce
planning that improves people's lives
Skills for Care is supporting the Centre for Workforce Intelligence's (CfWI) new web portal that aims to be the first place to go for up-to-date workforce planning information, analysis, tools and support in the health and social care sector.
Skills for Care has produced examples for the portal of the work we are doing to support planning for the future adult social care workforce.
CfWI is the new national authority on workforce planning and development across health and social care. The Centre was formed following a review of the future of the NHS workforce in 2008, A High Quality Workforce, which highlighted the need for better workforce planning across the health and social care system. It aims to shift NHS and social care resources to the frontline, removing bureaucracy and moving care from hospitals into homes and the community.
The portal is also the forum for health and social care professionals to share innovative thinking like our New Types of Worker programme and good practice and gives access to a wide variety of national and international workforce planning resources.
