Briefing on employment agency practice (2009)

Supply and demand for social care workers

In the summer of 2009, Skills for Care commissioned a stand-alone piece of research looking into the supply and demand for social care workers by "Employment Agencies" into the adult social care sector in England. This work focused in particular on the profile and importance of "overseas" workers.

This briefing represents some of the key message taken from this work, but it is important to note that this work was intended to explore one particular aspect of recruitment, that of the practices relating to employment agencies and is by no means representative of the wider recruitment agenda on migrant workers and migrant workforce development.
