Step by Step: workforce commissioning in adult social care - a detailed guide for local authorities and their partners
This product considers the implications of the new Government themes of 'Big Society' and 'Small State' for workforce commissioning as well as the vision for the NHS and adult social care. It includes an updated version of the InLAWS position statement, shows links with NMDS-SC and also draws on materials from the ADASS/CSIP guide 'What does a commissioning framework look like?'.
Learning from the InLAWS project to date and existing products have been consolidated to provide a platform for future authoritative activity on workforce strategy. Overall it will provide practical help on workforce issues e.g. creating a different dialogue with providers rather than 'how much we are going to pay you?' rounds.
PLEASE NOTE
We will keep this guide under constant review to ensure the tools support the evolving needs of health and wellbeing boards and reflect the changing landscape of commissioning.
