Applications for individual employer fund now open

If you employ your own care and support staff through personal budgets or using your own money, you can apply for funding to train you and your staff.

You can apply for funding to pay for training to develop you as an employer and to develop the skills of your PA.

It can cover the direct costs of training and qualifications, travel costs and the cost of hiring replacement support whilst your usual PA is attending training.

To apply for funding, you need to complete the application form and send it to us with all necessary documents. You can download this as a PDF or Microsoft Word document

You should also read the guidance document which explains more about the funding and how to complete your application.

You can ask for assistance to complete the application form, but only you as the employer can agree to the conditions of the grant.

To claim funding during the 2018/19 funding year, you must send your application with all necessary documents any time before 5pm on Thursday 28 February 2019. Any training that you want to be funded must be started by 31 March 2019.

We will consider all applications for funding on a case by case basis. If successful, we will usually tell you within 30 days and arrange payment directly into your bank account.

Funding for personal health budget holders

Please note, funding for PHB holders who employ their own personal assistants is currently closed.

We're working with NHS England to secure additional funding to ensure that we can continue to support PHB holders with money for training.

If you're a PHB holder who would like to apply for funding, please email funding@skillsforcare.org.uk so that we can let you know when the funding opens again. Or you can sign up to our quarterly newsletter for regular updates.
