We aim to improve the skills and knowledge of all health and social care workers when caring for their palliative patients/clients. Through a series of modules staff of all grades and roles can explore and understand the care, needs and management of people considered to be in their last years of life. The Springhill Palliative Care Education Passport consists of 6 modules, covering: End of life care models and advance care planning. Psychological care of patients and their families. Assessment, symptom management and care planning. Care in the last days of life. Care after death. Communication skills for a distressed person. There are also additional workshops including Learning difficulties, Dementia and further communication workshops that can be attended as options. The attendees will complete a workbook and portfollio and at the end will attend a celebration day when they will receive a certificate and badge. This programme accredits the attendee as much as the employer.
