Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set

The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set is the new name for the updated National Minimum Data Set for Social Care (NMDS-SC) service.

Skills for Care has been commissioned by the Department for Health and Social Care to develop and manage the new service and provide expert analysis on the adult social care workforce.

The service is currently in development and we’re consulting with users at every stage to ensure it is fit for purpose. We’re also including non-users to make sure we get a balanced view. Thank you to everyone who has been involved so far.

The key difference will be the look and feel of the service. The questions asked remain the same although we have done a little spring cleaning. The new look will follow gov.uk websites, such as passport application or drivers licence renewal. The feedback we’ve had has been really positive.

In early May we’ll be migrating around 5,000 of our users onto the new service. They will be given advanced notice and won’t have to do any additional work.

Shortly after this all remaining accounts will be migrated and the NMDS-SC will be switched off. All data will be transferred so there’s nothing for users to do – they’ll just see a new name and layout the next time they log in.
