Care Certificate Workbook

The Care Certificate workbook is a free downloadable resource to support the training process and help you and your new workers cover parts of the Care Certificate.

There is a workbook for each standard supported by an introduction and glossary. Each standard includes knowledge content and ends with a section where learners can record their understanding.

Use of the Care Certificate workbook is optional

The use of the workbook is optional and you might want to adapt or develop your own materials to meet the standards.

You can choose to incorporate some or all of the workbook into your induction programmes.

The Care Certificate workbook is not available in a hard copy format. This is to ensure the resource can be produced and maintained free of charge. We have not received any funding to produce hard copies - should there be significant employer demand, we would consider introducing this as a priced publication.

Saving this evidence

The assessments in these workbooks have answer fields you can fill in electronically. If the workbooks are filled in on a computer they can be saved using ‘save as’. Please save the workbook before beginning to enter any information.

Learners should be encouraged to save their work and share with you. You may wish to save this alongside your other staff records.

Employer responsibility to assess competence, provide additional learning

There is no answer book to accompany the workbook. It is your responsibility to judge the competency of your workers and arrange additional training, support and supervision as required.
