On this page you'll find our support for commissioners, including useful resources to help them in their role and information about opportunities to network with others.

The information on this page is for commissioners working at all levels of adult social care, and may also be of interest to children and young people and health commissioners. You'll find help with workforce planning, implementing change, and tools to help drive up quality across services.

We've included links to qualifications and learning events for commissioenrs. You'll also find information about our new national network, which provides a space for commissioners away from the day-to-day pressures of work to apply guidance, learning and best practice to real-life commissioning challenges with peers from across England.

New national peer network for commissioners

Join Skills for Care’s new national peer network for commissioners; a safe space for commissioners across different settings to connect with their peers, share experiences, challenges and solutions and to learn with others.

Skills for Care’s role in supporting professional development for commissioners uncovered a real need for a facilitated space where commissioners can share challenges and explore solutions with their peers.

The network is free to join and, whilst being of particular interest to Local Authority adult social care commissioners, is open to all new and experienced commissioners in social care and health in England.

The focus for this national network will be on themes and topics important to commissioners, centred around personalised and outcome-focused approaches to commissioning for people accessing care and support.  Signing up to membership of the network will give you access to regular masterclasses and facilitated peer learning sessions.
