Filled posts
This tracker is updated monthly, by 15th of the month.
This page presents the estimated number of filled posts in adult social care each month.
- These estimates cover CQC-regulated care homes and CQC regulated non-residential services in the independent sector.
- These estimates are statistics in development and may differ from Skills for Care’s other publications.
- These figures may be revised throughout the year as more data is provided to the ASC-WDS. Historical information may also be subject to change due to the improved methodology.
To improve our monthly tracking, we have been using data engineering to produce the new estimates. The benefits of using data engineering are:
- We can now provide estimates of the number of filled posts in care homes every month rather than once per year (we plan to include domiciliary care locations in the coming months).
- We now make use of all ASC-WDS data collected over time and have implemented new analytical methods which have improved the accuracy and consistency of our estimates.
- The new methods are also more responsive to changes in the sector. Changes happening in the sector will be reflected sooner in our estimates.
- Once the data engineering work is complete, we will be able to share estimates at a more granular level than before.
