Trackers have been paused and will be updated once 'The size and structure of the adult social care sector in England' report is published on 29 July 2025. Significant improvements have been made to estimates for the size of the non-residential workforce and will be reflected in the updated figures.

This tracker looks at Skills for Care’s estimate of starter, turnover and vacancy rates in adult social care. These estimates, shown in blue, have been weighted to represent the whole adult social care sector. Monthly changes, shown in purple, present unweighted data from the ASC-WDS. 

This monthly information should not be compared to our regular annual reports. The monthly data is currently unweighted and may only reflect the characteristics of those who updated their ASC-WDS information.
