Filled posts estimates shown here are statistics in development and may differ from Skills for Care’s other publications. Filled posts figures may be revised throughout the year as more data is provided to the ASC-WDS and as we continue to develop the methodology.

These estimates cover CQC-regulated services in the independent sector.

Quarterly filled post percentage change figures show the proportional change since the last annual workforce estimates were published.

The recruitment and retention section shows our estimate of independent sector vacancy, starters and turnover rates as at March 2025. Quarterly changes represent unweighted data from the ASC-WDS, from employers that have updated since last March, and therefore may only reflect the characteristics of employers that have updated the ASC-WDS.

The information ‘(i)’ button provides notes about the data, and the 'Download PowerPoint’ button allows you to download a screenshot of the data visualisation for your own presentation. There is also a glossary tab.

Below the data visualisation, you can follow links to find out about our methodology.
