About the One Stockport Health and Social Care Career Academy

Launched in January 2026, the One Stockport Health and Social Care Career Academy brings together partners from health, social care, education, providers, the voluntary and community sector, and employment and skills services to address workforce challenges through collaboration, skills development, career pathways, and employment opportunities.

As a place-based initiative, the Academy supports strategic commissioning objectives by strengthening workforce capacity, improving recruitment and retention, creating clearer progression routes, and helping to build a resilient and sustainable care market. Through a shared commitment to developing local talent, partners are working together to create opportunities for residents while supporting providers to meet current and future workforce demands.
