Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set
The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) is an online data collection service and the leading source of workforce information for the adult social care sector in England. It holds information on over 20,000 care providing locations and 750,000 workers.
Our Workforce Intelligence team are the experts in adult social care workforce insight. They use the data within ASC-WDS to produce extensive analysis and statistics on the size and characteristics of the adult social care sector and workforce. They publish reports and data visualisations that are available for you to view and download at a national, regional and even local level. This work is crucial in helping us understand what adult social care workforce in England looks like today and might look like in the future.
This evidence review looks in depth at the workforce issues and opportunities faced by the adult social care sector. The review encompassed 190 academic, policy and other research and intelligence sources, and involved 13 stakeholder consultations.
Automated Data Transfer Discovery summary
A discovery was conducted by Lagom Strategy, on behalf of Skills for Care, between July and September 2021. It focussed on exploring the possible changes to the way national adult social care workforce data in England is collected. In particular, it explored the possibility that large volumes of data could be transferred in more automated ways.
