What to expect
This is a relaxed, peer-to-peer space where you can meet others in similar roles, share experiences, swap ideas, ask questions and offer support.

You don’t need to stay for the whole session, simply drop in for as much or as little time as you like.

Here’s a simple guide to understanding the different types of independent care and support providers.
- Micro provider - a very small, independent care provider offering personalised support, companionship, personal care, or help with everyday activities in local communities.
- Private carer - a person paid directly by an individual or family to provide care and support, independently of larger care agencies or homes.
- Personal assistant (PA) - a person employed directly to support someone with care needs, helping them live independently and manage their everyday activities and choices.
- self-employed personal assistant (SEPA) - a person who provides care directly to a person who needs personalised support with daily living, while operating as a self-employed worker rather than as an employee of a care agency or organisation.
