Proud to Care Gloucestershire, part of NHS Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire County Council, created a video in collaboration with care providers in the Forest of Dean where people working in care shared what they love most about their jobs.

The wonderful video really highlights the rewards of working in care and showcases what people enjoy most in the work that they do.

Opening the video one care workers says:

I love working in care here in the Forest of Dean because I feel like I really make an impact on people’s lives and that makes me incredibly happy knowing that I’ve made somebody’s day or helped somebody do something they’ve never done before. I rest easy at night. It makes me really happy.

She added:

My job is to enrich people’s lives and as a result of that it also enriches my life.

Another said:

This role is special because it’s rewarding; it’s rewarding in lots of different ways. It’s not the big things, it’s the small little things – helping achieve a good day is massively important for the people we support as well as ourselves.

Well done to all the care workers involved in this video for the great work they’re doing in care and thank you for sharing your experiences.
