This #GoodNewsFriday we hear about the football league set up for staff across Elmsdene and Honeysuckle House; Elizabeth House; Chamber Mount Care Home, and Across The Bay Care Home.
The football league was set up to connect the group’s five different care homes across Oldham, Blackpool and Morecambe.
It’s been a great tool for building relationships between care homes and staff teams and engaging managers to support with positive team building.
When matches are held the players’ family are also invited to come along and watch which extends the personal bonding for the teams.
It’s also an opportunity for the staff to share their culture, with one team preparing an Indian banquet for everyone to enjoy after the match.
The teams have also been awarded a trophy for the winner and medals for participation.
Now the group is looking to engage other homes from outside their company to get involved.
The group says the league has promoted great team building and respect for all carers.
One of the staff players added:
“Happy times, there is no losers – we are all winners.”
