Skills for Care

  • Good news story

It was a proud day for Valerie as she watched her daughter get married, with two of the care workers where she lives using their day off to make sure she made it to the wedding.

Nicole Dempsey and Leanne Tucker, two care workers at Frenchay House, made it their priority to ensure their resident Valerie was able to make it to her daughter’s wedding.

The two carers took it upon themselves on their day off to escort Valerie to enjoy this very special day for her family.

All three ladies dressed up for the occasion and had a wonderful day out. Nicole and Leanne dedicated their full Saturday to attending the event with Valerie, to ensure she was able to celebrate with her daughter, Claire and Claire’s new husband Kevin.

Karin Brownlie, Registered Manager at Frenchay House, said:

My two beautiful carers at Frenchay House gave up their whole Saturday to make a dream come true. We are super proud of them and are so lucky to have such thoughtful members of our team.

Congratulations to the newlyweds and Valerie on what looks like a fantastic day.
