Future Directions’ homes are alive to the sound of music, with visits from their very own Music Man, Kevin Phoenix.

Every day, one of Future Directions’ houses across North England gets a musical visit.Since April 2022, Kevin Phoenix has offered drop-in music sessions for people supported by care provider Future Directions CIC.

Each of the music sessions are fun-packed and person-centred, and the audience can join in by singing along, dancing, or playing a musical instrument.

Linzi, one of Future Directions’ personal assistants said her supported persons enjoy the session, especially how it improves their interaction and communication.

Deborah, who is supported by Future Directions in Stockport, said she loved the session and liked how Kevin played her favourite song, ‘Kumbaya, My Lord’.

Kevin visits each Future Directions house on a three-weekly cycle so that each one of Future Directions’ supported persons can benefit. There are one-to-one sessions and small group sessions – all of which have a positive impact on the people supported.

Nakash, a staff member who supports people in Future Directions’ Chadderton location, said:

I strongly believe the sessions impact people’s lives in positive ways. They help staff to create an amazing environment at the house
