This #GoodNewsFriday we say a big well done to Sue Ann Nnamani, Registered Manager of Priscilla Wakefield House Nursing Home on winning the Inspirational Manager Award at the Stars of Social Care Awards.

The Stars of Social Care Awards were held in June at the London Marriott Hotel in Regents Park, hosted by TV’s Josie Gibson.

The awards aim to shine a light on the stars of social care, paying tribute to the workforce who through dedication and a commitment to care, go above and beyond to support people.

Among the many deserving winners on the evening was Sue Ann Nnamani, Registered Manager of Priscilla Wakefield House Nursing Home, who has shared with us what her Inspirational Manager Award meant to her.

Sue Ann has over 20 years’ experience working in social care as a registered manager of services for older people. She’s been the registered manager of Priscilla Wakefield House Nursing Home for seven years.

In the announcement of Sue Ann’s win it was stated:

Sue Ann is the prime example of an inspirational manager. Firm and compassionate in equal parts, her leadership ensures all those around her thrive. She should be very proud of her contribution to social care, and for winning this award.

Sue Ann says:

I was pleasantly surprised to be nominated for this award by my colleagues and even more surprised to have won. I continue to fly the flag for social care teams all across the country whose work often goes unnoticed. This award provides recognition of the role of registered managers and the part they play in social care.
