This #GoodNewsFriday we’re saying a big well done to Skills for Care’s Angela Thompson, Locality Manager (Yorkshire and Humber/North East) for receiving an Outstanding Contribution Award from The Independent Care Group (ICG).
Angela received the award for outstanding contribution for services to social care at the ICG’s 21st birthday celebration awards. At the ceremony held in York, ICG celebrated 21 people who had excelled in social care.
The award was presented by ICG Chair, Mike Padgham.
ICG is a non-profit organisation who work on a voluntary basis for the benefit of the independent and voluntary care industry. They work alongside statutory authorities on an ongoing basis in North Yorkshire passing on concerns of providers and solutions to key issues.
Angela has worked closely with ICG for 20 years and the award was given in recognition of the support she has provided to care providers and registered managers across York and North Yorkshire. She was selected for the award by the ICG Board.
Angela has achieved many successes in her career in social care. Some of her key achievements include establishing the Care Alliance for Workforce Development where she was Chair for 11 years; establishing four Registered Manager Networks across York and North Yorkshire, and supporting over 500 employers with leadership and workforce development.
She has also delivered many seminars and training programmes, receiving 95% good or outstanding feedback on the training she’s delivered.
Speaking of her award, Angela said:
Well done Angela from everyone at Skills for Care.
