Jane Brightman, Director of Workforce Development, will be leaving Skills for Care in the autumn to begin a new chapter in her career within adult social care.

Jane rejoined Skills for Care over two years ago and has since played a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Adult Social Care Workforce Strategy. Her leadership has been instrumental in establishing the strategy as a cornerstone for the future sustainability and success of the sector.

Professor Oonagh Smyth CBE, CEO of Skills for Care said:

Jane has made an outstanding contribution to Skills for Care and to the wider adult social care sector. Her passion, expertise and leadership have been central to the success of the Workforce Strategy. While we will be very sorry to see her go, we fully support her decision to take on a new challenge and are delighted that she will remain within the sector, where her impact will undoubtedly continue.

Jane Brightman said:

It has been a privilege to be part of Skills for Care and to work alongside such dedicated colleagues and partners across the sector. I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, particularly in developing the Adult Social Care Workforce Strategy. While it’s not an easy decision to leave, I’m looking forward to the next chapter and continuing to support the sector that I care so deeply about.

Jane will remain in post until the autumn, ensuring continuity across key programmes and priorities. Recruitment for her successor will begin shortly.
