Impact evaluation of Skills for Care

17 Aug 2022

Skills for Care is committed to being transparent, evaluating and capturing the outcomes and impacts of our work.

An independent impact evaluation of Skills for Care’s activities between 2018 and 2021 has found that we’re economical, efficient and effective, delivering good value for money for the adult social care sector.

The economic impact of Skills for Care activities is estimated to be almost £276 million between 2018-2021. For every £1 spent by Skills for Care, £3.43 of benefit is generated to the economy in England.

The evaluation found that Skills for Care consistently delivers initiatives that meet recognised needs in the sector. Managers have developed their leadership skills and developed their capacity to coach and support their team members because of Skills for Care programmes. Social care staff have increased in skills and confidence because of Skills for Care's support.

You can find about more about the impact Skills for Care’s initiatives have had upon the individuals and organisations that participate and, by extension, those who receive care in the executive summary.
