Bookings are now open for the launch of "The state of the adult social care sector and workforce in England 2026", Skills for Care’s flagship annual workforce report.

Taking place online on 14 October, the free event will bring together sector leaders, policymakers and professionals from across adult social care to explore the latest workforce insights. Attendees will also hear from Minister of State for Social Care and Mental Health, Alison McGovern MP.

The annual report provides a valuable picture of the adult social care workforce in England, highlighting key trends in areas such as recruitment, retention, workforce demographics, pay, training and qualifications, and future workforce forecasts.

The launch event is a chance to hear first-hand analysis of the findings, understand what they mean for the sector, and explore how the data can support workforce planning, service improvement and policy development. This year will explore new insights on delegated healthcare activities and the Care Workforce Pathway. Attendees will also have the opportunity to see how their organisation compares with others and ask questions. 

Whether you're leading a care service, shaping local policy or simply interested in the future of adult social care, the session will offer practical insights and expert perspectives.

The event is free to attend and open to anyone with an interest in the adult social care workforce.
