This #GoodNewsFriday we hear how staff and residents enjoyed some traditional Sri Lankan wedding celebrations at Roselands Care Home in Rye.
Roselands Care Home, part of the Eleanor Healthcare Group, recently hosted a very special occasion as Apeksha, one of their beloved team members, shared her wedding celebrations with residents and colleagues.
Apeksha, who has been a valued member of the Roselands team for years, wanted to share her joy with colleagues, residents, and the wider community. As not everyone could attend her wedding abroad, the home became the perfect place to celebrate together.
The occasion was filled with some beautiful and cultural traditions. With candle lighting, shared blessings, traditional food, and lively music, the celebration brought joy and togetherness while giving everyone a meaningful glimpse into a rich cultural tradition. Staff wore traditional attire, helping to bring the celebration to life in a way that was meaningful for everyone present.
The event reflects Eleanor Healthcare Group’s commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture where staff feel valued and supported. By embracing and celebrating the unique experiences of our people, community spirit strengthens and residents feel part of something warm, inclusive, and family-like.
Residents and families alike were delighted to be part of the day. One resident shared, “I haven’t danced at a wedding for more than 40 years.” A relative added, “Thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful time. Priceless memories.”
The said that moments like this reflect what makes Roselands so special. It’s a community where staff, residents, and families create meaningful memories, grounded in care, respect, and genuine connection.
