Celebrating Social Care: celebrations shared with us this week

Throughout April we’re #CelebratingSocialCare and we’re loving seeing you get involved. Every Friday we’re rounding up just some of the amazing celebrations you’ve been sharing with us on social media this week. Thank you to everyone who’s taken part this week.

Fun activities

We’ve loved seeing some of the fun activities you’ve been talking about this week in light of #CelebratingSocialCare. Springwood Residential Home recently enjoyed a great baking session which brought everyone together to create and enjoy some tasty treats. Meanwhile, Radfield Home Care’s day clients had a visit to Cedar House Care Home where they enjoyed a game of crazy golf. Elsewhere, at one of Affinity Trust’s accommodations the residents have been enjoying a spot of gardening ready for spring and summer.

Shouting out staff

Celebrating Social Care is a great time for spotlighting your brilliant staff. United Response have been celebrating their team member Hannah Molloy who has been named a winner of the Jimmy Greer Award in the Workplace category. The awards honour people around the world whose efforts help create better disability inclusion and accessibility, either in their workplace or their community. The Charlotte Straker Project has been celebrating their staff member Kellie, a dedicated nurse who goes above and beyond. Recently she donated a beautiful range of Easter decorations to help create some truly standout spaces across the home.

Positive feedback

It was lovely to see Claire Callaghan of Bowfell House share some of the great feedback they received from a family member, which was handwritten and hand delivered to the home.
