This #GoodNewsFriday we hear from LDC Care Company about the celebration day they held for Pride in the summer.

LDC pride themselves on recognising the value of difference and how important it is to celebrate diversity.

They tell us that, they love the fact that everyone is unique, which is why they're keen to host so many wonderful events throughout the year celebrating diversity.

These events provide an opportunity to share experiences, increase awareness and understanding, and allow staff and the people they support to feel embraced and supported for being their true selves.

LDC Care Company support and employ individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, so it was an important day for them to celebrate Pride in June.

The day was a colourful celebration, featuring sweetie tables, music, arts and crafts, some games, and lots to eat and drink. There was face painting and bright colourful clothing to represent the Pride flag. They also decorated the head office to make it feel extra special.

LDC’s founding Directors, Jenny and Tony joined in the celebrations, and they all had a great time dancing, singing, making art and eating rainbow cakes.

LDC Care Company are known for their inclusiveness, and it’s important to them that the people they support and all members of staff know that they'll celebrate with them.

They say that events such as Pride provide an opportunity to reflect on how they challenge negative attitudes until there is full equality for all. Events such as these also give people the strength to be their true selves, and know that they are free from the risk of discrimination whilst they are with LDC Care Company.
