Tricia is a social worker by background and is currently the Head of Operations - Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Merton overseeing the provision of adult social care. At a strategic level Tricia has led government taskforces, including most recently Co-Chairing the BAME Communities Advisory Group during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We interviewed a very strong panel of candidates and the rigour of that process means that Tricia will bring a lot of experience and drive to this role. Tricia brings exactly the sort of practical operational and strategic expertise we need to make sure our organisation can fully support over 20000 adult social care employers so we have a skilled and motivated workforce delivering high quality care and support to people in our communities. - Skills for Care CEO Oonagh Smyth.

Tricia who has also Co-Chaired the Adults Principal Social Worker National Network in England will replace Andy Tilden, and she takes up her new role in March. Tricia Pereira says:

I know from my time at the London Borough of Merton, and in my strategic roles, the pivotal part Skills for Care plays in supporting the learning and development needs of our sector’s growing workforce so I can’t wait to start as Director of Operations. There’s no doubt our sector has some significant challenges ahead but I’m looking forward to joining a strong team at Skills for Care who offer a wide range of social care experience and expertise.
