Skills for Care CEO Oonagh Smyth said:

We gave written and oral evidence using our data to the select committee on the significant impact of the pandemic on the 1.5 million people who work in adult social care, and this comprehensive report put the needs of our workforce at the heart of their recommendations. We look forward to working with all our partners to see how we can best take forward their recommendations, including the need for a People Plan for social care which must be underpinned by a vision for the future. The report will also help address key issues for our sector like the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on workers from a BAME background, and support the development needs and wellbeing of our growing workforce.
