Skills for Care

  • Good news story

Throughout April we’re #CelebratingSocialCare and we’re loving seeing you get involved. We round-up just some of the amazing celebrations you’ve been sharing with us on social media this week.

Our fifth year of our #CelebratingSocialCare campaign launched this Wednesday and it’s been wonderful to see so many people all across social care getting involved once again and sharing their support and celebrations.

Thank you to everyone who has joined in this week and we’ve loved reading all of your posts.

In case you’ve missed any of them on social media we’ve pulled together just a short overview of some of the brilliant updates that you’ve all been sharing with us.

Reflecting on March successes

We loved seeing an update from Leeds City Council about recent successes across their care delivery services. This included St Patrick’s Day celebrations to celebrating a long-serving staff member who’s been working in social care for 26 years. The authority also reflected on the launch of a new Enhanced Safeguarding, MCA, and Mental Health Act training calendar, and their community partnerships.

Elsewhere, James’ Place Adult Daycare also reflected on their fun-filled March, including karaoke, Mother’s Day celebrations and spring outings.

Awards and recognition

Congratulations were in order for Making Space Charity with four of their teams being shortlisted for the Stars of Social Care – Teams Awards 2026.

Meanwhile Care First 24 Ltd were celebrating their employee of the month Jarrell.

LDC Care Company were also celebrating as they enjoyed afternoon tea at the House of Lords with Lord Palmer, celebrating their national success from the 2025 Learning Disability & Autism Award.

It’s so great to see teams, individuals and people drawing on support being recognised.

Do keep joining in and checking out what everyone is up to by using #CelebratingSocialCare on social media.
