'Delivering outstanding care' seminar

The day equipped me with a significant amount of up-to-date knowledge and links to resources to enable me to have a clearer understanding of how I can prepare my service to achieve an 'outstanding' rating. Thank you.

This new seminar is for those who work in regulated services with a ‘good’ rating and that want to progress to an ‘outstanding’ rating. It shares learning and best practice from adult social care services that are delivering ‘outstanding’ care, to help you to understand what inspectors are looking for and give you practical ideas to improve.

This seminar explores how you can best prepare your service to meet CQC expectations for an ‘outstanding’ rating. It will:

  • unpick the difference between a ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ rating
  • help you to understand how the CQC expectations for an ‘outstanding’ rating translate into the values, behaviours, skills and knowledge that you and your workforce needs to achieve this rating
  • share learning and best practice from ‘outstanding’ rated services
  • explore the ways that your service can evidence and demonstrate what it does and how this exceeds the expectations of a ‘good’ rating.

The seminar is interactive and will encourage you to reflect on your current practices and identify the required changes to ensure that your service delivers ‘outstanding’ care.

This seminar is suitable for anyone that’s responsible for CQC inspections and quality/improvement in adult social care services that have a ‘good’ rating, including:

  • registered managers
  • nominated individuals
  • learning and development leads
  • quality leads.

One of our expert advisors can deliver this seminar for up to 30 delegates in your organisation. If you’re a medium or large employer or local authority, you can commission it for your own managers, or smaller care providers can commission it together with other services (for example, via registered manager networks).

'Improving your CQC rating' seminar

The seminar was very useful. It reset my mind into developing my [services] systems and making some changes.

This seminar is for adult social care providers that have an overall ‘requires improvement’ or ‘inadequate’ rating with the CQC and want to progress to ‘good’. It draws on learning and best practice from providers that have successfully turned their service around and made improvements that have enabled them to achieve a ‘good’ rating.

We’re running a pilot session in February 2020 and would like to invite you to register your interest.

You’ll access the full seminar on the day, and there’ll be opportunities for you to tell us what you think so that we can make any changes to the content.

This seminar will help you to understand the characteristics of a ‘good’ rating and give you practical ideas to help your service to improve. It will:

  • explore how to remove the obstacles to improvement
  • give you practical advice about how to drive forward improvements, including a range of activities for you and your teams
  • give you recommendations to improve under the key questions around Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led
  • explain how to create a successful action plan
  • show you how to evidence your improvements for your next inspection.

This seminar is suitable for anyone that’s responsible for CQC inspections and quality/improvement in adult social care services that have an overall ‘requires improvement’ or ‘inadequate’ rating with the CQC, including:

  • registered managers
  • nominated individuals
  • learning and development leads
