Training in Care
Training in Care began in business by looking at the inspection reports of local authorities and identifying skills gaps. In 2002 Training in Care won a National Training Award for their Esteem Programme, an employment pathway for people entering the care sector. Initially students entered the childcare sector, but with the demand growing and the transferrable skills within both child and adult care, we offered a “cradle to grave” training programme. This led to the establishment of The Care People CIC in 2007, a supported employment company offering free recruitment to employers and continuous professional development, work experience and variable hours for Care staff. Training in Care works with the public, private and voluntary sectors. The company holds and excellent contractual track record, high standards of teaching and learning, is innovative in its approach to workforce development in care, and is driven by its values.
