South West Nominated individual network meeting

Skills for Care is delighted to announce the launch of its South West Nominated Individual (NI) Network, which is taking place on 24 September 2024 (11.00 – 12.30) via Zoom. If you hold the role of Nominated Individual within your organisation, this new network will explore your role and responsibilities further. By attending, you will hear  about current opportunities, sector challenges and ways to overcome them, and there will be an opportunity to network with your peers.   At this launch meeting we will be joined by Caroline Coleman of Coleman Training who worked with Skills for Care to develop “The Nominated Individuals Handbook: A Practical Guide” which is available to download here Discussion topics will include: What is the role of Nominated Individual and why is it important? Relationships between the CQC and the Nominated Individual role Supporting the registered manager and taking the role of a critical friend  Managing the dual role of registered manager and nominated individual Each network meeting will be virtual and will be facilitated by a Skills for Care Locality manager.

Being trained as a mentor gives you the opportunity to mentor others, whilst learning new skills, developing greater self-awareness and reflecting on your practice. This programme is intended to provide you with a better understanding of the structure of the mentoring process and of the intellectual design behind mentoring. The programme will include: What mentoring is and the benefits of mentoring Mentoring core skills The mentoring relationship Tools for the mentoring conversation Action planning and reflection The programme is FREE and exclusively for registered manager members of Skills for Care.
