Overview

Please join us for this webinar where we will provide an overview of the Employment Rights Act 2025, which will help bring employment rights legislation into the 21st century, extending modern protections to millions more workers.

The Employment Rights Act 2025 is a key pillar of the Government’s Plan to Make Work Pay, which is aimed at growing the economy, boosting wages, and reducing insecure work.

Whilst the Act received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025, the Government will take a phased approach to engagement and consultation, as well as phasing commencement of the significant number of policy measures included, affecting different parts of the employment law framework and beyond.

We will be joined by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on this webinar, where we will:

  • Introduce the Employment Rights Act 2025, different measures included, and implementation timelines.
  • Explain the parliamentary process and how legislation comes into force and is amended.
  • Provide a deep dive of some key measures which are most relevant to the adult social care sector, including:

    • The Fair Pay Agreement in adult social care
    • Statutory Sick Pay
    • Zero-Hours Contracts
    • Changes to trade union access and recognition thresholds
    • Creation of the Fair Work Agency.

Understanding the new employment rights and how this will impact the sector is key for all adult social care providers and its workforce. By joining this webinar, you will be better informed about the changes, associated timelines, and your responsibilities as an employer and/or your new rights as a worker.

There will be a Q&A with our speakers, where we’ll use your questions at registration to help shape the discussion.
