Skills for Care

Employers can claim funding to support a newly qualified social worker (NQSW) through the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) programme and apply for ASYE certification.

At the completion of the programme the employer can request a certificate of completion for each NQSW they have assessed as passing the ASYE programme.

We’re working with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), to offer funding to the employers of adults social workers.

The portal for the adults ASYE funding opened at 09:00 on Wednesday 19 July 2023.

This means that you can start to register your newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) on the portal, which will remain open until 23:59 on Wednesday 31 January 2024.

As per previous communications, all employers will be expected to upload an action plan for continuous development to the documents section on the portal in order for their application to be accepted.

Additional guidance on how to use the portal is available to download.

To claim a certificate for NQSW, employers need to update the NQSW record on the portal with the date of completion of the ASYE, and email to notify us of the completion.

Can’t see the records?

Please email with the names of the NQSWs completing, their Social Work England number and their completion date.
