Supporting workforce capability

Skills for Care works to ensure people working in care have the right skills, knowledge, competencies, values and behaviours to meet current and future needs in our communities. We do this by defining the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed now and in the future, developing and reviewing learning and development to fill the gaps, helping care providers and their staff to access training, and ensuring there's a vibrant learning market.

Person-centred approaches in health and care

Person-centred care puts people, families and communities at the heart of health, care and wellbeing. It encourages people to speak with staff about what is important to them, helping to develop a shared understanding of what matters. Guide to improvement

This 'Guide to improvement' helps adult social care employers to identify, plan and implement improvements across their service. It draws on 'good' and outstanding' practice to help your service to, not only meet CQC expectations but exceed them. It includes checklists and examples to help you to identify what your service needs to improve, and to develop an action plan to implement the required changes.
