Overview
What does it take to provide great community support for autistic people and people with learning disabilities who come into contact with the criminal justice system? We will explore what makes this type of support work and what barriers we face.
This online event is for colleagues working across adult social care, or advocating for people who are autistic or have a learning disability, in particular those who come into contact with the criminal justice system.
It will help you to learn more about how adult social care professionals can commission and run support, and how workers can get the skills, knowledge and insight needed to support people well.
Outcomes
Increased confidence and competence to support people in contact with the criminal justice system and manage ‘escalating risk’ to help people avoid becoming criminalised.
Who should attend?
People responsible for delivering and/or commissioning adult social care support for people who have a learning disability and/or autistic people who might be at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.
