Overview

This online event is for colleagues working in local authorities and/or social workers across adult social care for people who are autistic or have a learning disability.

It will help you to learn more about how the changes to the mental health act will affect your work, and how workers can get the skills, knowledge and insight needed to support people well. We will explore what makes this type of social work effective and what challenges we face. 

 

Outcomes

Understand what the revised law will mean for social workers and local authority staff, including:

  • changes to care education and treatment reviews
  • changes to dynamic support registers
  • changes to detention criterial and place of safety criteria
  • best interests decisions and named social workers
