  • Workforce intelligence

The Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) has many benefits for employers. We round up all the ways it can help you.

Safely store workforce records

ASC-WDS provides a safe, secure, and free place for storing and accessing all your workforce records. Here you can store all information about your staff such as personal details and work history, meaning you always have this easy to hand.

Manage training records

You can also store your staff training records in ASC-WDS, and even be reminded when training is due for renewal. You can define mandatory training for each job role in your organisation and set alerts for when training is missing or expired. Having your training records in ASC-WDS makes it easy to evidence training during inspections.

Spot trends in your workplace

Through safely recording your workforce data in ASC-WDS you can monitor and identify any workforce trends that may need your attention. For example, you will be able to see your turnover and vacancy rate. Being able to see these metrics clearly for your service can be particularly useful when measuring if new initiatives to recruit and retain staff are being effective.

Benchmark against other organisations

Having access to your data in ASC-WDS not only allows you to monitor your own data and trends, but you can also compare your workforce to other similar organisations. The benchmarking feature means that you can compare your organisation against others on metrics such as vacancy rates, turnover and pay, enabling you to see how you’re performing in your local authority area.

Access funding

Having an ASC-WDS account means that you’re able to access the Workforce Development Fund (WDF). This fund allows you to claim money back for various training programmes and qualifications to support the continuing professional development of your staff. Providing opportunities for learning and development is key in supporting a positive workplace culture and can have a positive impact on retention.

Gain exclusive benefits

As an ASC-WDS user you also have access to the Benefits Bundle, which provides exclusive benefits and offers. This includes offers from Skills for Care endorsed training providers, discounts on eLearning modules, and discounts on seminars.

Impact sector policy

As well as supporting with the everyday management of your organisation, ASC-WDS provides social care employers with an important opportunity to help shape sector policy. The data provided by social care employers in ASC-WDS is used to provide a comprehensive overview of the landscape of the social care sector, which is used by the Government and other stakeholders to make decisions and set policy for the social care sector. By using ASC-WDS, you’re making a difference with data and helping to drive positive change for the social care sector.
