As we prepare to launch our ‘Size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England’ report, we look at how 21,000+ care providers are making a difference by using the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS).
This week we’re set to launch our ‘Size and structure of the adult social care sector and workforce in England’ report. This report covers key workforce metrics such as vacancy rates, turnover rates, the number of posts in adult social care and future workforce projections.
The report is a predecessor to our even more comprehensive ‘State of the adult social care sector and workforce in England’ report which also covers data including pay rates, training and qualifications, job roles, organisation types, and more.
Both reports are created using data from the Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) and so it’s thanks to the 21,000+ care providers using ASC-WDS that this vital intelligence is available to help aid understanding and decision-making about the social care sector.
These insights are used by stakeholders and policy makers including local authorities, integrated care boards and integrated care systems (ICBs and ICSs), commissioners and the Government.
So, by using ASC-WDS and contributing data, care providers are helping to make a real impact in shaping the social care sector.
As well as the benefits which the data provided by ASC-WDS brings for the sector, using ASC-WDS has lots of other benefits for care organisations.
ASC-WDS is a free data collection service which can help social care providers to manage their staff records. This includes managing training plans, storing staff details, and monitoring information such as sickness levels.
The system also allows for benchmarking against other similar organisations for factors such as pay and vacancy rates. This can provide crucial market insight into how your organisation compares, allowing you to identify any areas for improvement and recognising areas where you excel. This insight can support managers with workforce planning and team wellbeing and development.
It can also support with managing staff training plans by being able to compare staff training against mandatory training by job role and receiving alerts when training is due. This can also help managers to evidence training for inspections.
The new Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS) is only available to care providers with an ASC-WDS account, and allows providers to claim for a wide range of training courses and qualifications for their team members.
All ASC-WDS account holders also have access to the ASC-WDS Benefits Bundle which gives access to special offers and discounts.
If you’re not already signed up to ASC-WDS you can find out more and sign-up on our website.
